Tour description: Enjoy a beautiful walk through our bush where you witness the first early signs of spring--melting snow, dripping trees, and flowing creeks. Along your walk, your tour guide will share some of the post-colonial history of The Roost Farm. Upon arrival to the sugar bush, you will learn about the simple science of the maple harvest, traditional to modern day sap gathering practices and syrup production. You will visit two operating sugar shacks to witness a more traditional hobbyist set up, as well as a larger scale commercial operation. Guests will have the opportunity to taste our farm made syrup before returning to the meeting point at the main farm.
